VGA Highlights
So I didn't watch the VGA's for obvious reasons. I think it is a waste of time for the most part and completely unimportant in the grand scheme of things. However, it was our first opportunities to see some trailers for some of 2009's biggest titles. Below are the teaser trailers for 2 very important PS3 exclusive hitting next year. They are very brief and therefore, disappointing but it's better than nothing I suppose.

Was I the only one completely underwhelmed by the God of War 3 trailer?
I'm just happy a Tim Schafer game receives some hype for once.
i'm glad that the god of war 3 showing didn't or wasn't all scenes
I dunno how unimportant it is. While personally don't put much stock in the games they choose, I've noticed that sales for whatever game happens to be GOTY shoot up in the days after the awards.
Technically, the Oscars are pointless too, but it's always interesting to watch and see which films win one.
I was actually satisfied with the Uncharted 2 “trailer”. Sure it’s more of a teaser but I liked what I saw and supposedly that cutscene was made with the game engine.
I have to admit, both of those teasers (I refuse to acknowledge them as trailers, and I won't take no for an answer) were underwhelming considering the build up and hype for them. I was expecting true gameplay clips, more plot revealed and a hundred hidden details that would be spotted and talked about for months to come. These, however, lacked mostly all of that. Hell you only need to watch them twice and you've seen everything in them.
Although I admit I did enjoy the Uncharted 2 teaser more, because that scene has a lot of suspence in it that grabs your attention better, and leaves more to the imagination *crosses fingers for train carriage shootout*
The God of War III teaser was simply flat out disappointing, and this is coming from a person who's bought every GoW game (Even Betrayal and Chains of Olympus) and holds them high up in their favourite/best games ever list. It was 30-40 seconds long and only a third of it was in game. Even then I'm saddened that the graphics and gameplay didn't look great. Good, but not fantastic compared to anything else out there. Hell I'm not a graphics whore, but after all the spec details and Jaffes hype rant (He tends to exaggerate and swear more than needed, but I actually trusted him on this occasion) I was expecting a little more. Not to mention there wasn't a single decent kill that stood out. After seeing Kratos stab a Cyclops in the eye yet again for 3 years you tend not to go "OMFG" anymore. And wtf is with those weird gloves? I really should be hoping that this is only Alpha footage but that doesn't matter much anyway. I mean, can anyone, anyone name just one game where a game improved drastically in design and gameplay from Alpha to Gold?
Well, who knows how my opinion will change. Maybe once we see some proper, direct footage or a trailer longer than 2 minutes then my hype will return.
