Seriously. Why are so many people worried about Resident Evil 5??

I'm so tired of people complaining about how the game looks so much like Resident Evil 4. How unimpressed by they demo they were. How their excitement for Resident Evil 5 is dropping! Fuck!

Everyone remember what the first footage and later demo for Resident Evil 4 showcased? Leon in a village killing zombie villagers. Yeah.

Now remember playing the game? All those awesome bosses? Enemies like the blind wolverine fuckers or those scary ass invisible bug creatures? Remember fighting suits of armor with giant swords? Remember that crazy ass cult and that huge ass castle with some crazy ass rooms? I could go on and on in an even more disorganized and poorly written manner, but I shouldn't have to. That game came out in January that year and was still nearly unanimously considered Game of the Year. I love that game.

So why is everyone worried that Resident Evil 5 will be too much like Resident Evil 4?

I guess you could admit that the limited early footage and demo of RE5 looks a lot like the limited early footage and demo for RE4. There was a ton of great RE4 stuff that was never shown prior to release of that game. And people are assuming RE5 is going to be lacking in these same areas of badassery? I just don't get it.

I'm more confident about my assumption of the AAA quality of Resident Evil 5 than I've had in any other game I've seen in a very long time. Maybe since Metal Gear Solid 2. I mean really. What the fuck is everyone worried about?

Here is footage to ease your worries:

Yeah... fucking awesome.

P.S... Online Co-op, dummies.

I agree with you Brad, I will have no one speak ill of this game. RE4 was awesome and amazingly fun and with the online co-op, this game should be even better. People are just judging this game too quickly.

Way too quickly and they make it seem that RE4 for a horrible game, never was. Maybe it was a different feel and you no longer run away, you actually have to fight them. Big deal.

Also...the online co-op portion is a major plus in my book.

I'll be buying it. But i'll be so fucking pissed if the collectors edition doesn't come out here.

it has a USB in the shape of a T-Virus container for christ sakes. I want it. No that's childish, I need it.

Still though, looking forward to it.

RE5 is my second most anticipated game for 09. I'm going in a media black out for it. I don't want to be spoiled... Like at all. I will play a demo if it's released in the states but, no more trailers for me.

I just hope the ally A.I. is good enough so I don't have to "babysit" Sheva through the entire game... As much as I love co-op in games, sometimes, I just want to play by myself. That's the only concern I have for RE5.

Like you mentioned before RE4 had great variety in environments, gameplay and RPG elements like upgrading your weapons. RE5 seems to have all of that and more.

There is the saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". RE5 could be a carbon copy of RE4 (just in Africa) and it would still be a great game. But what about progression? Shouldn't RE5 do something to differentiate itself?

From playing the demo, it becomes evident that the developers did not want to hamper a good thing, however, the tweaks made seem very well devised. The control schemes are more complex this time around (and more allowing), the inventory system has been reworked in a manner beneficial to the game's pace, and it features ONLINE CO-OP. That sounds pretty stellar to me.

I will be purchasing RE5 on day one.

What's wrong with people? RE4 was easily one of the best games of the year. RE5 takes everything that was awesome about it, and expand on it tenfold. I rarely use this term, but this time it's appropriate. This game's going to be "epic".

my only complaint is theres no typewriters. other than that, the game seems great

My reasoning is because if I wanted to play Resident Evil 4, I wouldn't go pick up a copy of Resident Evil 5. I'd go and play RE4.

Not all that exciting to me.

I agree with Azn,
This game will be at least decent, if not BETTER.
