I still haven't played through Mirror's Edge yet. Thats right, my number one most anticipated game of the year is still on my pile of shame. So before I have even had a chance to start it up, there is already some crazy new DLC announced by DICE. The DLC is an extended "Time Trial" mode set in flashy new virtual environments. I can't wait to give it a try. Check it out:
I still hate DLC though... this should have been in the final retail copy of the game, no excuses.

Hey look, PURPLE! We get a new COLOR!
I like how they disguise unfinished maps as "Virtual Reality" though.
Like Brad is always screaming about, these should've been on the disk. I mean, time trials is basically the 'meat' of the game, lord knows no one is playing Mirror's Edge for the story.
Still, as long as it's free there shouldn't be much to complain about. But charging for maps like that? Then I don't think so, sister.
Wow, that looks like a Wipeout Zone Mode in Mirror's Edge form (Minus the surroundings pulsating to custom music tracks. Now that would have been awesome).
Still, I can see why you're looking down on this DLC Nick. It does seem like something that should be unlocked after completing the game. Man, there's hardly any games out these days that require you to play through the game to unlock bonus materials and new gameplay areas/items.
Don't get me wrong, I still have hope that DLC can be done right when it's to expand on certain games that have long lives/no need for sequels too soon (Burnout Paradise is a great example), and free is free whether it should have been on the disc or not. But I do disagree with charging for this Time Trial pack. This would have made purchasing Mirror's Edge more tolerable if it was already on the disc.
ooooo and aaa I like the free roaming-ness look. Unless we have to go a certain path the whole time, then these will not tickle my fancy. Well, hopefully this wont be a disappointment. (And I doubt this will be free)
I just finished Mirror's Edge on Normal (you unlock hard by beating normal). And after playing threw it. I worry about the re-playability. I'm going to play threw on hard, this time using guns, but past that, there are time trials and speedruns. I, I just don't know if this game will be played again after I get the platinum trophy (or 1000g). If they keep releasing these packs, it will be better, but I'm still concerned.
4player Podcast is a completely independent venture. Any donations will go towards equipment and upkeep for our live broadcast and weekly show recordings. Thanks for the help!

I, too, have not started Mirror's Edge after hyping it up to a bunch of friends. These new maps remind me 100% of Counter-Strike kz_ maps though.

I'll also admit, I kinda like that remix of Still Alive. >.>;;

Reminds me of Metal Gear VR...
