Look guys. We laughed Free Radical out of business!

So Haze was easy to make fun of. I mean the game was fucking awful. But prior to me playing the demo, I was willing to give the game the benefit of the doubt. I was on record of saying the game would probably be good.

This was because the game was being developed by the Free Radical. Never heard of them? Last generation that made the Timeplitters series. I consider is one of the most underrated FPS franchises around. I absolutely adore the second game in that series. They also made the surprisingly good Second Sight. Oh yeah, and the generation before that? Well, the studio was created by the guys that left Rare who worked on Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. Which is why Timesplitters feels so much like those games. And most likely why the Perfect Dark sequel was shit.

So they are gone now. Is this okay because Haze was a bad game? Larger companies are allowed to make mistakes. Square has the Saga games and Ubisoft has Prince of Persia 2008. I dunno, it just doesn't seem fair.

There you go again Brad with the Prince of Persia 2008 thing. I think comparing PoP 2008 to Haze is ridiculous. Haze was disliked by pretty much everyone while PoP on the other hand has received generally positive reviews. PoP 2008 was a GOOD but flawed game.

Damn it, I didn’t realize THEY were the guys who made Goldeneye. No wonder I loved TimeSplitters so much. Everyone’s allowed to make mistakes and Haze was theirs, hopefully someone will pick them up.

They went out of business because they lost development rights with Lucas Arts, which means that they had no money.

Second Sight was a great game in terms of story.
The combat felt a bit lacking like they could have touched up the combat and psychic powers and made it much more enjoyable.
What little i played of Timesplitters 2 i thought was interesting, but i feel i would have better appreciated it had i played it more.
Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are two of my favorite FPS games and it's sad to hear that such good developers have gone out of business.
Makes you worry for the future of some of our other favorites.

what?! they are gone?! when did this happen... they should have skipped haze and went straight onto the next timesplitters. This is terrible news.

Timesplitters 3: Future Perfect was one of my favorite original xbox and XBL games, I probably played that game more then I played Halo 2 on live back in the day. This is very depressing because I was really looking forward to TS4. Especially because I heard they were doing parodies of a ton of gaming cliches.

Actually, they're just bankrupt and not gone for good. They said they hope to make an announcement near the end of December.

Fucking A, you know the shitty part about all of this? They were hard at work on a new Timesplitters game for the current generation of consoles and it was also rumored they were working on a new game in the Star Wars: Battlefront world.

Then again, they aren't closed yet, just bankrupt. Here's to hoping they come out all right.

Maybe Atari would like to buy them? :/

Maybe we can get the government to give them a bailout. It seems to work for everyone else!

Or maybe EA can buy them, then refuse to let them make TS4, then make them make barbie games, and then fire them because no one bought the barbie games
