Time to do your part.

Sega is hurting guys. If you've been reading the news, you've probably been hearing some pretty horrible things Sega is going through right now. They are killing off most of their arcade business in Japan and claimed they will be killing game projects as well. The first announced is the cancellation of the Obsidian developed Aliens RPG. I'm sure this won't be the last of the bad news we will hear about in the coming weeks from Sega.

Yakuza 1 sold like shit over here. Yakuza 2 sold even worse. That and Sega would have to spend a fortune localizing Yakuza 3.

So the horrible reality is that there is no financially viable reason for Sega to localize Yakuza 3. At least they don't think so. We need to change their minds.

Ok, normally I hate these things. But fuck it, we have to do something. It has just over 500 signatures, and now it's time to hit 10,000. I'm not sure I would have worded the petition the way this person did, but numbers are all that matters. Every single person who reads this blog needs to sign this. Every single person who watches the broadcast needs to sign this. This is my new project. I will exploit any attention we have ever gotten to achieve this goal. I want this. And I want you to want this.

No place on the internet is safe. You must help me.
If you see a spot that will let you enter text, a link to this petition better be the first thing you type. If you are a part of any message board out there, I want this petition as your signature. If you know people out there who love games, it is your obligation to inform them on this series. Sit their asses down and show them this trailer first.

Use this trailer to get them interested, and then explain to them that the rest of the game is a cross between GTA, Shenmue, beat-em-ups, and Japanese RPGs. Then show them the rest of the trailers. Then you and that person click the link below and both buy copies of Yakuza 2.

I've done my part in signing, even though that petition won't mean much.

For you brad, I'll do my best.

Not to be a spoil sport, but those petition don't mean jack...especially when half the sigs are already f-up. What we need is all the large gaming site (IGN, GT, etc) to put a lot of coverage of this game when it gets released in Japan. This will create hype in the states, Sega may pickup on this demand, and might consider localizing the game...

I finally got my copies of Yakuza 1 and 2 from the mail today. Sadly, I could only buy 2 new and 1 used; but any money going back to Sega will help. I can't wait to start playing though them this weekend.

I went around town and bought every new copy of Yakuza 2 I could get my hands on (over the course of about 2 weeks I got 17 copies). I then gave them to people I thought would enjoy and thus support the cause. I'm working on building a street team basically. If we must we will rise up and march on Sega. . . okay maybe not really but the potential is there.

I signed it, but like Dave I doubt that this will make a huge difference.

This shouldn't be what you focus your attention on, there should be other mediums to use.

I gladly signed and boguht a new copy of Yakuza 2. I really hope Sega finds a way to earn profit in localizing it.

We should start a petition so Platinum Games (Clover Studios) can get its titles back from Capcom, I WANT MY DAMN OKAMI 2

I bought a copy too and signed. You've created a fan too, thanks!!

I signed but, Sega already put the cash in to make this game. I say skip the localization process, sell the game on their website and just include a feaggin' language pack through the PSN, problem solved.

Well just recently i got Yakuza 1 of gamefly and loved it so i bought part 2 back in december.

Its funny at the end with multiple bosses but overall its a good game to have guys. reminds me of gta with a japanese mix but done well

im going to sign the petition for sure.
i think if sony and sega put some effort into getting Yakuza 3 over here it could happen despite the sales of the previous to entries.

I'm not really interested in Yakuza at all, but I'm all for them bring the third to the states, if only to make you happy Brad. I'll buy Yakuza 2 this weekend. Hell, I might even play it.
