Any of you guys Olivia Munn fans? Me? Not really. Some would call her attractive. I'm not going to diss her or anything. I'm just a person who very judgmental about girls and games. I love women and I love games. But it's a very delicate balance when you try to put the two together. It's like chocolate and peanut butter. Each on it's own delicious. But when you put them together, it's not a very good....wait, bad example.
Well, you know what I mean. Sometimes I question women in games sometimes because it's unclear whether they are there because they are attractive or because they know their shit. But with Olivia Munn videos like these, it make me lean towards the former rather than the latter.

I remember when G4 first was starting out. I was a little skeptical but kept my fingers crossed for good content. For a while there I thought it might have some potential. Then it just crashed into a flaming pile of rubbish and has made no attempt to improve since then. If anything it has only gotten worse, why do I see COPS on G4 all the time?
What I really miss is TechTV, while they had some fun the programing mostly stayed classy and interesting, and relevant to the industry.
In short. Olivia Munn embodies everything I dislike about G4. Well, that may be a bit harsh but it is pretty close to the truth.
I agree Phunk_King.....such a shame too since the channel had promise before turning into the Cops channel, thats what they should call it really.
I'm pretty sure Olivia Munn has stated (At least when she started out) that she knows little or nothing about games. She is decent when it comes to general tech but nothing to write home about there.
To be honest Olivia Munn was never meant to represent the "Gamer Girl". Those roles are held mainly by Morgan Webb and Alison Haislip.
I haven't sat down and watched G4 in a while and I don't think I will anytime soon. A review here and there on the site is about it for me.

I remember before G4 was Tech Tv, now that was an awesome channel. Loads of old, good shows about video games and technology. But now, it's all gone to hell. Which is a shame, since Xplay is probably the only decent thing it has left but it's constantly being shitted on by people for being biased, etc. It's worse because Adam Sessler, one of the co-hosts, actually is a pretty smart person if you see some of his "Soapbox" videos online.
Yeah G4 blows and I dearly miss the old days of ZDTV and TechTV. I'm glad I don't have cable.
These videos are supposed to make us NOT like here? You jaded freak. She's not afraid to dance even when she sucks, she has a big mouth and is not afraid to put things in it, and she cares about bewbies.
Plus, it's just a persona. A persona made to fit the shitty network she is a part of. She is not on a gaming show, and not on a gaming channel.
She was hired on long after the channel stopped being a gaming channel.

I do hate the game. I never said I hated Olivia Munn. I just dislike the fact that she's doing these things to attract male viewers. Whether she likes doing them or not is really not my concern. I do wonder how it really effects her confidence. To be kind of taken seriously but then not.
But when you look at it. I'm just embarrassed that I'm being marketed towards this way. To be lumped in with people who just want to see her stuff sausages in her mouth, I'm a little offended. They're trying to be taboo but hide behind a curtain of legitimate programing. If you guys like that stuff, go for it. Nothing wrong. You just set back evolution about 10 years, that's all. Plus there's tons of stuff you can find on the internet that's better.
And I miss Tech TV too. Martin Sargent and Laura Swisher were an awesome combination.

Everybody's said whatever I would have said, I just wanted to add that having women like her on gaming television shows is freaking demeaning. Way to single-handedly enforce crappy stereotypes for the rest of us, because obviously your crap career is more important than women being taken seriously.

She's the type of person who portrays what the stereotypical girl gamer would be. Doing it just to attract guys, and just being...well you know.

What does COPS have to do with the gaming industry? AOTS has its pros and cons, and it's random like hell.
I just think that they're trying so hard to attact viewers with their antics. This is where the Internet basically raises the bar against G4 or any other gaming show.
Some people view Olivia Munn or any other female host just a rack and hips on a TV screen for at least an hour. Hell, they enjoy it more when they turn down the sound all the way.

She doesn't represent gamer girls at all. AOTS is a viral video/popular gadget show. They never rate/review/preview or talk about any games...ever. They leave that up to X-play... Morgan Webb is the girl that is representing gamer girls in america. I know for sure that if it went back to a tech tv sort of network their viewer rating would crash causing them to lose sponsers and all their money... and its all about the money
*sigh* Back when I enjoyed G4, it used to be my dream job to be a part of it. I was way into broadcasting, I thought I'd make it a career. I was totally into gaming, and I would have LOVED to do them both at the same time. As the channel slowly turned to shit, and anchors like Munn appeared with more than overly stereotypical behaviors. . . I think I cried a little. I changed my major.
