Brad,You're a very hard person to read at times. Sometimes I'll call you with news that I think you'll be excited about, but you aren't. Other times the smallest thing we talk about for hours. I'm not sure.
But I do feel like this is news worthy so....
Thanks gray_snake for emailing me and letting me know that Ryƫ ga Gotoku 3 (Yakuza 3 for PS3) will be getting a demo tomorrow on the Japanese Store. (Credit: vg247.com)
For those who are new to the blog we've been really supportive of mostly anything Sega. Valkyria Chronicles won Game of the Year from us for 2008. They are working with new developers like Plantinum Games on projects such as Bayonetta and MadWorld. And of course, they're always still putting out "high quality" Sonic titles.
Their biggest release of the year, however, has a chance that it won't even make it outside of Japan. It's a game that we've been really trying to push community support in an effort to let Sega know that there are people who want this game and they should take the time to bring it here.
Brad's been vocal about the OnlinePetition. Here's your chance to help out.

Video games is a weird business, unlike movies or music if a product isn't released in a part of the world there's pretty much no way that part of the world will be able to play that game/product with any real 'joy'. Movies can be subtitled, songs are as they are ment to be but games can't be multi-regioned so easy it seems. I understand Brads an many other games pain in this(phantasy star generation 2 being my own heartbreak game), it's like LotR's not getting a world release and only being shown in australia! This is also why i'm quite anti-casual gaming, as i feel this could be a growing trend of losing AAA great quality titles as they just don't make the money Wii fit does.
I've already signed the petition and I've even said that Sega owes 4PP for their support of many of their games.
Granted I doubt they really care that much, but it would be nice if they listened to us.
I, honestly, have little to no interest in getting a PS3 currently and don't see myself getting one for a very long time. But if they released Yakuza 3 here in the US, I'd buy one immediately just for that game.
I think Sega might decide to ship it to the States eventually. After the release in Japan there might be a major Yakuza 3 hype over here in America(since it's already getting internet attention) and they might decide to ship it over. It would be nice if that did actually happen....If only If only
