The Dark Knight is by far one of the best movies I have seen in the past decade. The film has already made over $400 million dollars in the box office and smashed so many records that I can't keep up with it. For some odd reason though, this is the first Batman title to be released without a video game coinciding with its theatrical release. Given that other games have been mediocre at best, this might seem like a good thing but I don't think there is any denying that a vast majority of people (myself included) would love to play a Dark Knight game. We know the game exists so why haven't we heard anything about it!? Well today, the Associated Press asks the tough question, "Where is the Dark Knight?"Well surprisingly it comes down to several reasons, the primary reason being that no one expected the film to do so well. WTF!? In my opinion it's hard to grasp that concept because Batman Begins did amazingly well and the sequel's marketing campaign was massive to say the least. Aside from that, the delay can also be attributed to missed deadlines, the untimely death of Heath Ledger (RIP), and quality control. It is estimated that the EA missed out on approximately $100 million dollars in sales by not releasing a game at the time of the movies release. However, I do applaud them for taking the time to release a quality product and hopefully when we do get a Dark Knight game, it will be the game we all have been hoping for and not just another mediocre licenced game.

heres hoping that pandemic can correct EA's well earned reputation for rushing out half-assed, garbage licensed games. some of these franchises have potential (like this one), but in EA's hands im not too optimistic. i hope they prove me wrong. They seem to be saying all the right things and maybe with the addition of quality studios like bioware and pandemic they can change the perception that gamers have of them, which is generally bad. They should concentrate on making quality games and not just focusing on the bottom line.
I'm honestly surprised EA didn't rush out some shitty half assed action game just for the money. In fact, I think they would have if they could have. Movie-games and game-movies almost never turn out good, with some very few exceptions. (Escape From Butcher Bay anyone?) EA's quality in general has been sliding these past few years, and I think they need to step up their game to keep up with the other rising publishers.
speaking of Riddick, when is the remake coming? i never got to play the first and its not on the bc list
Riddick should be out sometime next year. Unfortunately it was one of the titles that Activision/Blizzard dropped from their publishing list so it is in the same boat as Ghostbusters right now. Hope they find a new publisher soon.
Maybe it's just me, but the thought of playing as Batman isn't that exhilarating. Still hope it isn't vaporware for the sake of the Nick, and the other fans, though.
