More GameStop Commercials

So here's kind of an add on to Nick's Post. Hopefully you've seen the Bunny commercial. GameStop has some creative people working behind their commercials. I'm not saying they're bad, it just feels they have this Corporate Coat of paint put on them that some consumers, especially those not familiar with game buying, will fall for. Look at it this way. It's like insurance on something. Companies don't sell insurance because they care about you or that they really want to be part of your life. They sell insurance because they can make money off it. They're playing off the odds that more people will buy insurance than the people who will actually need it. And I'm not pointing the finger specifically at GameStop, all companies do it, but honestly (and this is your opinion as a consumer) do you feel empowered when you go in and hear "Power to the Players" or do you feel something else?

Here are some more commercials from GameStop, I kinda want your honest opinion on them.

Ok, so I wanted you guys to watch them before reading my opinions. The second commercial is awesome. It's funny let's the watchers know what the point and is informative. I didn't find it particularly rolling on the floor funny, but it's good.

The first one, I think is a horrible commercial. I think the actors they chose all look like douches. From the guys trading in the game to the sales clerk. First time I saw this I thought, can they get away with this portrayal of women? I figured a lot more people would get upset at this, maybe it's because it's audience is geared more towards guys, or maybe it's because nobody really saw it.

Let me know what you think, or that I'm crazy.

I enjoyed the second one, I find it funny and it gets straight to the point. The first one is a bad commercial and the guys do look like douches lol.

i didn't really like the 1st commercial although i had never seen it before prior to this moment in time, also those guys buying and trading in the games i guess like getting hurt? It looked like,in my opinion, the girls were representations of the games in the way that people assume that its mostly only guys that play video games, which most certainly isn't true. I also think women didn't find the commercial offensive (due to the women in the commercial, ie. how they were dressed) because i don't think as many people have seen that commercial.

the 2nd commercial was very nice, it was amusing and gets the point across.

When i hear the GameStop commercials say power to the players, i do feel a small sense of power in what games i trade in and buy there, although it is not really any different than any other games retailer.

The first commercial was HookerStop. The second commercial was pretty good/funny.

I'm from the UK and over here we don't tend to have adverts for Games shops on the TV.

When i first saw a game Stop Ad on IGN.com i just though they where a bit OTT. The guys voice at the end sounds like he is slightly constipated.

But i do like the main part of the Rabbit one previously posted.

VERY deceiving. They make it sound like the games are cheap, you can trade in all your games for a good price, it's the cool place to be, etc. Gamestop is essentially one of the enemies of gaming, because they buy your games back at $2, and then sell them back to people at $40. That isn't right. You're better off selling your games to your friends.
