We're going to be in LA next month for E3. We'll have the day before E3 to hang out, and also the next three days for food. I'd like some suggestions on what to eat around town. Anyone care to help?
I agree with accolade, In'N'Out is a must. Be sure to get grilled onions. They pack in way too much onion if you get raw. Also, get animal style fries. Its french fries with a slab of cheese, grilled onions, and thousand island dressing.
Del Taco has some amazing chili cheese fries, and the other stuff on the menu's pretty cool too.
Jack in the Box, but you know all about that one, David.
Fat Burger's a good choice.
I'm not too hip on the sit-down restaurant scene in LA, having not lived there, but I'm sure there's gotta be a Coco's and a Buffalo Wild Wings, both of which kick all balls.
If you're still in LA sunday evening might I suggest going to the New Beverly (7165 West Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036 ) to catch a double feature of "The Wizard" and "Joysticks"
While you're in LA try out their popular frozen yogurt, I think it was called Pink Berrys. Frozen yogurt is a hit right now in Cali, and their are a bunch of flavors usually to choose from.
In N Out there's milkshakes and burgers you can order. the "secret menu" involves custom burgers like animal style burger. where the meat is cooked with mustard and the onions are cooked and chopped.
Claim jumper has long wait but big portions. they serve "American stuff" like chicken pot pies, other pies, and the motherlode cake which is a huge ass choco cake.
since ur talking about LA, there should be some Oriental food there. There's a ramen restaurant which has reasonable prices (when it comes to noodles) but it's like the spicy kind. http://www.orochonramen.com/
I live in Los Angeles, I'd go to E3 but I don't think they sell passes anymore. Oh well, here are some suggestions:
You have to eat at In'N'Out, its not super great, but you have to eat there just to say you did. I prefer Fatburger over In'N'Out though. Bob's big boy makes a really average burger (its basically a Big-Mac), but the Big Boy statue is awesome and their french fry seasoning is delicous.
LA is also famous for Sushi, so you have to eat Sushi, I like Sushi Mac over in Santa Monica. It gets pretty crowded sometimes though.
LA has average mexican food in my opinion, but if you have to eat somewhere, try Tito's Tacos or El Tepeyac Cafe.
For sandwiches go to Phillipe the Original, they have dipped sandwiches.
Best Pizza would be Johnnie's NY Pizza, its a chain so it should be easy to find one. I know I know, its not local, but still its the best pizza I've had in LA.
Also, go to Bubba Gumps on the Santa Monica Pier. They got some good seafood and its right next to the water. If you got the cash, go down to Malibu and eat at Gladstones restaurant, that is the best seafood in LA. But its 18-35 bucks a plate.

I lived in LA reluctantly all the way until before senior year when I came to TX... finally.
Eat at In'N'Out whenever possible. Best burger place ever. Whataburger wishes it were this good.
If you're in the Pasadena area (about 15 mins from downtown LA) go to Burger Continental for excellent Greek food, live music, and a belly dancer...
Claim Jumper is also good if you can wait 30-40 mins for a table. It serves your typical American food.
And I can't recommend enough the Northwoods Inn as the best steak house in all of LA. It's not an inn, it just looks like a big snow-covered cabin.
Did i mention, In 'N' Out?
The Pantry Cafe (by the Staples Center) has probably the best breakfasts and great steaks. A lil pricey and its cash only. Open 24 hrs.

In N' Out is always amazing.

- Not sure where you're staying, but Tito's Tacos is good cheap food.
11222 Washington Pl Culver City, CA 90230
- You also might want to see if the Kogibbq truck is in the area. Long lines, but unique tasting food might be worth it.
twitter.com/kogibbq to see where they'll be and when.
- Fatburger's goin bankrupt so try it while you can.
- DON'T go to Pink's Hot Dogs. Lines go about a hundred people deep all day... for a freaking hot dog...

Only seven bucks homie
In n Out's burgers are pretty thin, so I recommend atleast a double double (2 patties). It'll blow your face off.
Make sure you know about the In'n'Out secret menu!
Order a 4x4, you get so much cheese that you don't even have to use ketchup, it's crazy delicious.
Best order a 100x100 at In-and-out. =)

Fat Burger is amazing.
El Pollo Loco is nice for a fast food place.
Pink's is good, but there's almost always a line. Even at 2 AM.
Honestly, In N Out at least once. I always get at least a 4X4 there.
Since your in the LA area, at least try some Rosco's Chicken and Waffles lol.

have a kickass time
Honestly, out of every place you can go to, make sure you go to World Famous Tommy's.
http://www.originaltommys.com/
You can get locations there, but they're home to one of the best Chilie Cheese burgers and fries in the world.
