Infamous... Better than Prototype?

Infamous is looking better and better everytime I see it. I was excited about Prototype (still am) but this looks a bit more polished. Anyways, check out this footage and share your opinions or observations!

IMO Infamous is the greater game when compared to prototype. Prototype looks to be the hulk game, minus the hulk. Alot of the environments in infamous include condensed and concentrated platforming devices on a massive scale to complement it's platforming gameplay throughout the entire city. The video itself says it all.

And from what I've seen of prototype, although it can be fun to wreak havoc within the city streets, i feel that element can grow repetitive and worn out over time. Prototype is devoid of any proper platforming gameplay. If you wish to reach the top of a certain building you simply walk/run up along it's walls and you're actions are automated as you scale them. And this applies to most of it's gameplay in terms of traveling from point a to point b, platforming is not it's core aspect. Whereas Infamous looks to be a wonderful blend of it all, from 3rd person shooting with a dynamic cover system to pristinely controlled platforming.

And it's also worth mentioning that your actions and decisions in infamous dictate the look of your environment and interactions with the people. There was a certain video that displayed a graffiti artist who painted two murals of the protagonist, one depicted hope, the other depicted fear. By choosing one of the murals, the artist will make copies to display around the city. If you choose the hopeful image, people will perceive you as a savior. If you choose the fearful image, people will perceive you as a tyrant.

Prototype is Spiderman 2 and Incredible Hulk, where it may be fun for the short term, but in the long run it looses its sheen. I honestly see Infamous as a game that offers more than one can comprehend at first glance, with a level of depth that should not be diverted by swift assumptions. These two games are completely different and i choose Infamous over the other.

... I approve of the title of this entry. I have to say, both games have their advantages, Prototype being a monster jumping from building to building, and inFamous blowing things up with the snap of your fingers

Oh, so it's not just me, then? I don't know, I might not get it until later in the year, though, and I'm the type of guys that buy games immediately. With Fight Night Round 3 coming out around that time, also (I mean, yeah, it's a month, but shut up), I need to slow up my uptake of games this year.

This game... I bet it does have potential. They way that the character uses his power is "over-used" but people should get their heads out of their gutters and stop saying that this game is the same as Star Wars Force Unleashed.

Hmm... I see Infamous as a console exclusive is more peer pressurized to be a more polished game. Than Prototype.. I don't know I can't really judge since never tried them out.

Infamous give me more a vibe that's it's gonna be like crackdown while prototype gonna be some kind of hulk game. I'll still gonna buy both that's for sure.

I feel the same way. To me Infamous looks like it will have a richer story and fun yet challenging game play. Sure, your a bad-ass that can use lightning to own people, but your not invincible, whereas in Prototype, it seems as though Alex Mercer is basically the Hulk, which looks like fun, but because of the lack of challenge, I'm worried that Prototype will just be one of those games that's fun the first 2 hours, then boring the rest of the time.

The more I watch trailers for Infamous, the more I begin to see Crackdown. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, launching cars at people, and the building climbing all look straight from Crackdown, which may or may not be a good thing since some of those elements were definitely the best parts of that game in my opinion. Though some shots are very reminiscent of the Sly Cooper series (IE walking on wires) which isn't very surprising to me because it's Sucker Punch.

when you think about it and see it infamous does seem as though it might have the same feel as crackdown. It also reminds me of some game that came out a while ago with parkour gameplay and i think it had something to do with graffiti i don't remember.
