Notice that in the game Kiryu is cheering Haruka on. Fans of girl groups will commonly do those cheers during live performances. It's like making the show interactive. I'm looking forward to Morning Musume should I go to Anime Expo later this year.
Also notice that Haruka starts off timid singing the song. But as the song progresses, Kazuma's cheering brings life into her performance. She becomes more animated and sways from side to side. Eventually you're brought into a live performance atmosphere. It's awesome! I can't wait until they bring this game here.
Thanks again Zelkova,
David

Honestly the karaoke mini-games are one of the reasons I’m really excited for Yakuza 3, they just look so damn cute and fun. I agree with you David, I can’t wait until this game comes out here.
The mini-games, on their own, are worth the sixty dollar price-tag. It's ridiculous how much thought and precision has gone into them. The bowling on the Yakuza 3 PS3 puts Wii Sports Bowling to shame. The billiards game has actual working physics in it.
Also, in the karaoke, Kiryu claps his hands in rhythm with how you're supposed to hit buttons. It's awesome.
Gah. Come on Sega. Share your love with the world.
