TGS 08: No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle Trailer
This caught me off guard completely. I was so focused on Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo managed to surprise me by announcing No More Heroes 2. This is just a teaser trailer but it already has me giddy. The original game pissed me off with its ridiculous difficulty levels but charmed me with its unique art style and incredible characters! I really can't wait to see more of this game!

Japan, My Love
I've been reintroduced to my former love. Slowly but quickly, the memories trickle back into my mind. My senses are overrun while becoming reaquainted. The feel of the subway seats. The taste of the food. The smell of the air. The sound of people talking in background. The visual overload of cuteness. All I can do is smile while being overcome by these emotions.
I'm falling in love again. Why did we have to be apart for so long? None of my feelings have changed, they were just pushed to the back of my mind, forgotten so that I wouldn't be hurt again. But in my heart they are stronger than ever.
Already, my thoughts are on the end, when I will have to leave again. In a few days, this will again just be a memory. Our future together will again be at the cruel hands of fate.
But none of that matters. I am with you now. I would rather spend a week with you now, and spend the rest of my days wondering than to lose you forever.
Yours Forever,
David

Good news about Tekken 6 for consoles!
I was listening to IGN Game Scoop today and they were discussing the pre-TGS event that Bandai Namco was having yesterday. Much to my surprise, Tekken 6 did make an appearance. More specifically Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. Namco made the announcement that the console version of Tekken 6 will not only contain all the content from the Bloodline Rebellion expansion, but that they will other bonus content just for the console version. The Tekken 5 expansion, Dark Resurrection, saw the return of fan favorite Armor King, so I'm hoping to see one of the lovely ladies pictured below as this "bonus content" in the home version of Tekken 6. Neither have been in the series since Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken 2 before that, so I would love to see a return. Kunimitsu would be much more likely the case, as Michelle fights very much like her daughter Julia. But seriously, Wang is still around and I believe he is over 100 years old... Just bring back my foxy ninja(with a mask-less outfit as well).

Oh and by the way... Alisa Boskonovich, the new android maid girl has a move where in she removes her head and hands it to the player, only to have it explode in their face. So yeah, I'm glad they confirmed we are getting the new characters in the Playstation 3 version.
This might not all be good news, as I do have one fear about this extra content. I am really really scared Namco might throw in a Tag mode. They made an extremely half assed tag mode for Soul Calibur 4, and I'm worried they might do the same for this game. Tekken, or I should say fighting games, are not strong enough for another "spin-off" like the first Tekken Tag Tournament (TTT). Also, Namco brought back a lot of characters that never made it into Tekken 3 and updated their move lists dramatically. Since there are very few characters who have not made it back into the series since TTT, there might not be a reason for another full game. This worries me greatly since TTT is one of my favorite games of all time. TTT was a game completely designed around this tag mode, and is, in my opinion, the best implementation of a Tag mode I have ever seen in a fighter. I really don't want this mode shoe-horned into Tekken 6.
Yeah...

Do Your Part, Spread the Word
We have the Extra Life Charity Marathon coming up later this month. We need your help spreading awareness so we can make a big impact. All we're asking is for you to do what you can. If you can't donate, just tell somebody else and spread the word. That's already a big help.
See you soon,

Tokyo Game Show Pre-Show
I'm finished with everything in California. E For All and the wedding are over. I'll be making a quick return to Austin tomorrow to record the show and then it's off to my home away from home. The show tomorrow should be fun as we have lots to talk about. We'll be going over what's to be seen at the Tokyo Game Show and for the Top 5, we''ll be discussing Games 16-20.Just to give you an idea about the size of TGS. The Attendance at PAX this year broke records at 58,500. E3 back in it's heyday had about 60,000-70,000 people. But last years TGS had about 193,040 attendees and this year they're expecting at least 180,000.
This is easily the biggest video game show I've ever attended and it'll be in a country that I love being in. But I'll get to that in the next show. I guess we'll see you tonight for a great show.

We need your help! Really.
I received an email from Tia Marie of JTV informing us that the way they archive old broadcasts is going to change. The new policy states that JTV will only archive the last 14 days of our broadcasts. Also, that all highlights and episodes of the older footage will be savable. We expect you guys to do a great job of continuing to cut and save great clips every night. With that said, we are about to lose a ton of 4player Podcast history over on Justin.tv. We care about saving our old stuff, but we cannot do all of this on our own. So if you want to cut anything from the old archives from over 14 days ago since we started streaming in February, you need to cut it and save it as a highlight before October 6th. After October 6th, it will all be gone. We are hoping you will all find the best footage, but we need a few things for the sake of archive quality.
1. Giant 1 hour long multi-part play sessions of big games help maintain our history. These are great and give new viewers the chance to become familiar with the old stuff.
2. If you are going to cut out shorter clips, try to keep them under 10 minutes so we can send them to Youtube.
3. Properly title the clips! State the game name and who is playing; and if it is a big episode, then list the part number. This is very important for people who are wading through all of our old clips. It also helps big when sending stuff to Youtube. Example: Brad plays Fatal Frame 1: Part 3. Or: Nick PWND by a bum (Condemned 2).
Also, to help with this community project, we have the great benefit of the Wiki school and chronodarkx have been working on. The have listed every game played on the feed and who played it day by day since August 2nd. This is an extremely valuable tool for this project and a great site all together. Here is the Wiki and here is the link to all played games.
Thanks to anyone who can help in this community project. Your help is very much appreciated.
Brad
